One ruleset, several ways to play

Every Poople puzzle uses the same four-letter word ladder rules. The difference is how a puzzle is selected, saved, and shared.

Today's puzzle

The clean homepage URL loads a date-based puzzle. It changes with the calendar day and keeps that day's progress in your browser.

Unlimited puzzles

New puzzle generates another ladder immediately. There is no daily cap, life system, or waiting period.

Shared puzzles

Unlimited puzzles receive a gameId URL. Anyone opening the same link receives the same starting word.

Local stats

Played games, solves, streaks, and best move count are stored locally in the current browser.

How puzzle selection works

The homepage selects a starting word from the current date. Unlimited mode creates a gameId and uses that identifier to select a repeatable puzzle. Refreshing the same gameId URL keeps the same start.

Par and shortest paths

Poople can calculate a shortest known route through its accepted word graph. That route establishes par. You do not need to follow the same words; any valid path that reaches POOP solves the puzzle.

Hints

Hint calculates a useful next step from your current word. It does not complete the full ladder. Because hints respond to your current position, a detour may produce a different suggestion than the original shortest path.

Saving and resetting

Game progress and stats use browser local storage. Refreshing preserves the current game. Clearing site data removes saved ladders and statistics. Starting a new puzzle before finishing the current one ends the active streak.

The game dictionary

Poople uses a fixed set of accepted four-letter words. A real word may occasionally be absent, and uncommon accepted words may appear. The fixed list keeps puzzle generation and route checking consistent.
